What is Bluetooth®?

Bluetooth is the name of a wireless technology standard, which allows different types of electronic devices to interact via short-range radio waves. Because of the versatility of Bluetooth wireless technology, enabled devices do not share all of the same profiles. The Honda Handsfree Telephone system is compatible with Bluetooth-enabled phones that have a Hands-Free profile. The standard allows a wide range of devices to communicate with each other, with minimal user effort.

How do I set up my phone to work with Honda Handsfree Telephone?

How do I answer a call using Honda Handsfree Telephone?

After pairing is complete, your phone need only be in the vehicle and turned on. You can now answer calls without touching the phone.
  1. Press and release the “Talk” button on the steering wheel. The audio system automatically switches to Hands-Free mode. Begin talking.
  2. Press the “Back” button on the steering wheel when you are finished with your call.

How do I make a call using Honda Handsfree Telephone?

  1. Press and release the “Talk” button on the steering wheel. The audio system automatically switches to hands-free mode.
  2. Say “call.” The vehicle will ask what name or number you would like to call.
  3. Press and release the “Talk” button on the steering wheel and say the number you would like to call. The vehicle will confirm the number and say, “Say CALL, DIAL, or CONTINUE to add numbers.”
  4. Press and release the “Talk” button and say “call.” Your phone will then call the number.
  5. After your conversation, press the “Back” button. The audio system automatically returns to its prior mode.

My battery seems to drain more quickly when I use my Bluetooth.

Battery performance depends on many factors, including the features and/or settings you select and use, including Bluetooth. Utilizing the Bluetooth feature in some phones may result in draining the battery; therefore, if you are not using the Bluetooth feature, turn it off to preserve battery strength.

What is Bluetooth Audio?

Bluetooth Audio is the ability to play music wirelessly through your vehicle’s audio system using a Bluetooth device. First you must pair your music device to the Bluetooth Honda Handsfree Telephone system, then you can play your music through the vehicle’s audio system.

How do I know if my device will work?

The device must have the A2DP Bluetooth profile and it must be listed as “approved” for the “Bluetooth Audio” feature on the device compatible list.

Can I use the buttons on the centre stack (play, pause, forward and skip) to control my compatible Bluetooth audio device?

The device must have the AVRCP Bluetooth profile and it must be listed as “approved” for the “Bluetooth audio” feature on the device compatibility list.

What happens if my music device does not have the necessary Bluetooth profiles? Can I still play music through the vehicle’s audio system?

If you have a USB connector for your music device, you can connect your device using the USB drive.

What kind of audio quality can I expect from the Bluetooth Audio feature?

The audio quality of the music will vary by device, network and music files.
